OUT FITS: Early Fall - Cool Then Warm

Early fall. Eastern edge of the Midwest.

The mornings are 45 degrees. While the sunlight feels warm on my face as I wait for the dog to sniff every tree in the park, the breeze has a bite. Layers shield me from the cool air.

I head out for midmorning coffee and have to drop the jacket as soon as I feel the sun. By lunchtime, it’s warm enough to roll the sleeves of the overshirt. When I step outside to check on the progress of the Halloween decorations during an afternoon break, I have to pull off the overshirt completely.

After dinner, I step out to make sure the lights on the timer are working and I need the jean jacket again.

One outfit becomes five different looks over the course of a single day as the temps swing from cool to warm and back to cool. These layers make it easy to adapt.
